ROWAN COUNTY – The Atwell Fire Department and Enochville Fire Rescue conducted a live training burn on Saturday, April 27.
A one-story wood frame single family dwelling was used.
The structure was located in the 7200 block of West North Carolina Highway 152 in Rowan County.
The structure offered numerous training opportunities prior to the live burn. Firefighters trained on forcible entry, ventilation and rescue techniques.
Classes were held in the weeks leading up to the live burn.
The home owners were on scene to watch the exercise and all of the firefighters stopped to talk to them and expressed their appreciation for allowing them to use the former residence to train. Rowan County Rescue was on scene for firefighter evaluations and data collection.
